How to Use Gumout Carb & Choke Cleaner
Engine OFF (Cool) Cleaning:
- Remove the air cleaner assembly.
- Clean the exterior of the carburetor and all linkage.
- For manifold heat control, spray the exposed heat riser shaft and work the counterweight until it moves freely.
- Avoid spraying battery terminals or electrical connections.
Engine RUNNING Cleaning:
- Spray both ends of the choke valve shaft while manually working the choke.
- Spray down and around the carburetor throat to clean the throttle plate area.
- For PCV valves, disconnect the crankcase side and spray into the open end while working the plunger.
- Important: Do NOT spray down the carburetor throat with the engine off.
